General
Polyethylene terephthalate glycol, otherwise known as PETG, is a thermoplastic polyester that delivers significant chemical resistance, durability, water resistance, higher heat resistance and impact resistance.
PETG is the same plastic used in food containers and drink bottles making it very food safe. It is also fully recyclable just like your regular plastic bottles are.
It is also up to 20 times (not percent!) stronger than PLA or PLA+ which most cookie cutters are made from. The heat resistance makes it dishwasher safe. The finish to PETG is smoother and glossier that PLA meaning that cookie dough and fondant is less likely to stick to the cutter or stamp.
PETG is harder to print and get right in the manufacturing process. Nevertheless we decided to use this material, when possible, because of its added benefits.
Polylactic acid, also known as PLA, is derived from renewable, organic sources such as corn starch or sugar cane.
PLA is not as strong as PETG but it is more malleable and easier to print making it ideal for the more detailed and complex print jobs. It does not have a high heat resistance and will warp/shrink when exposed to heat. That being said it is more than capable to be used for cookie cutters.
It is environmentally friendly and will degrade much quicker than PETG. Although experts still advise that they are put into the recycle bin, the same way PETG is to be disposed.
Sets, such as the farm animals set, are a complete collection of themed cookie stamps and cutters.
When you buy a set you save up to 25% per stamp as opposed to buying them individually. Another benefit is a life time 20% off on all replacement items from that set. Terms and conditions do apply.
